Local beautician Maeve Casey is bringing beauty, confidence and creativity to Ballinasloe with the opening of her stylish beauty room, Beauty Room by Maeve, at the Enterprise Hub on Society Street.

After beginning her beauty career at The Beauty Bar on Dunlo Street, Maeve took the leap into self-employment following the salon’s relocation, a decision that has already proven popular with local clients.

Specialising in nail treatments and nail art, brow shaping and tinting, and professional makeup services, Maeve says it was always important to establish her business in Ballinasloe and build relationships with clients in her hometown.

The daughter of Niall and Nicola Casey of Garbally Drive, Maeve attended Scoil Uí Cheithearnaigh and later

Ardscoil Mhuire, where her passion for beauty continued to grow. “Beauty has always been something I loved, so pursuing it as a career felt like a natural step,” she says.

Fully qualified with both ITEC and QQI certifications in beauty therapy, Maeve has also completed specialist training in Builder in a Bottle (BIAB) nails and brow services, enabling her to offer the latest techniques and treatments.

Maeve says her past employment has given her valuable hands-on training and confidence in the industry and opening Beauty room by Maeve allowed her to create a welcoming space of her own while continuing to grow her client base locally. She focuses on nails, brows and make-up as these are the treatments she enjoys most and feels most confident delivering. BIAB manicures have become one of her signature services designed to strengthen the natural nail while delivering a polished, long-lasting finish. Clients can also choose nail art or subtle ombré detailing for a personalised look.

Brow treatments are also in high demand, with Maeve offering shaping and tinting designed to define and enhance natural brows. Her popular “eye trio” package, brow shaping, brow tint and eyelash tint is available for €35.

Make-up services are an expanding part of Maeve’s business, catering for weddings, debs, communions, confirmations, and special occasions. She offers both soft, natural looks and more glamorous styles, tailored to each client to enhance their features and suit the occasion. Maeve’s aim is to provide a relaxing, friendly experience while delivering high-quality results. “No two days are ever the same, which keeps things exciting,” she says.

She hopes to continue expanding her services and keeping up with new beauty trends and techniques. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with her sister Mia, friends and family.

Operating from the Enterprise Hub has also been a positive step, giving Maeve a professional base and the opportunity to network with other local businesses. Her strong client focus is reflected in excellent feedback, with all Fresha reviews rating her five stars.

Beauty room by Maeve is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 6.30pm and Saturdays from 9am to 3pm. Treatments start from €10 for brow or lash tinting, gel nails from €30, and BIAB removal with a fresh set from €60. Bookings are available via Fresha, Instagram @beautyroombymaeve and Facebook Beauty room by Maeve.
