This year marks five years of Brian Brennan Coaching, a milestone that reflects five years of commitment, growth, and community. What began in uncertain times has matured into a structured coaching service built on consistency, accountability, and long-term progress.
In July 2020, Brian made the bold decision to leave his job in Dublin and return home to Ballinasloe, determined to build something meaningful locally. Originally set to open in January 2021, circumstances forced him to adapt and pivot online, ensuring both new and returning clients could begin and continue their journeys with structure and support
From the start, returning clients became the backbone of Brian Brennan Coaching. Their loyalty and trust helped shape the gym’s supportive environment, where showing
up and putting in the work is celebrated. Many original members from 2021 remain active today, a testament to the strong community that has formed.
“I can’t take all the credit! The people around me are the ones who show up and do the work. If I’m honest, our success comes down to trust. People choose to come back and be part of what we’ve built. There’s a saying I’ve always believed in: if you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together. Everything we’ve achieved has been a shared effort, and that’s what makes it last”, states Brian.
From day one, the focus has gone far beyond fitness. Brian Brennan Coaching is more than a gym, it’s a coaching community where members are empowered to take charge of their own journey. Each person benefits from a structured, supportive environment designed not only to foster physical progress, but also to build discipline, resilience, and self-respect through consistent effort.
“My motto is simple: Constant and Never-Ending Improvement, we focus on Progress, not Perfection. It’s not just a gym, it’s a place where people come in, do the work, and leave better than they came, whatever that means to them”, Brian explains.
Over the years, Brian’s philosophy has evolved from an intensive 12-week model to one built on continuity and ongoing support. Brian took client feedback seriously and recognised that lasting coaching is about more than teaching, it’s about being a steady guide through life’s changes, whether that’s career shifts, family commitments, injury, or recovery.
This isn’t a session-based gym; it’s a continuity community. Each month, members themselves nominate the ACE of the gym, someone who demonstrates Achievement, Consistency, and Excellence, both inside and outside the gym. That could mean hitting personal bests, reaching life milestones, or even earning a promotion at work.
Like any journey, it hasn’t been without challenge. “I will challenge you, and that approach doesn’t suit everyone. The standard has always been the same, to deliver a structured coaching service that offers real progress for those ready to commit. There’s pride in doing things the right way, even when it’s not the easiest option”. notes Brian.
As the business steps into its sixth year, the goal remains the same: to keep improving the service, strengthen the community, and contribute to Ballinasloe’s growth. The message stays simple: Show up. Do the work. Keep improving.
