At the Rugby Club Annual General Meeting, they marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for the club, with Jacinta Divilly elected as the club’s second-ever female President.
Jacinta takes over at the helm alongside a board and committee with a fantastic representation of women in key roles. It’s a reflection of the hard work, passion and commitment of so many people who give their time both on and off the pitch to keep the club thriving.
The 2026/27 Board Members are: Chairperson: Pearse Keller; President: Jacinta Divilly; Honorary Treasurer: Orla Dolan; Honorary Secretary: Claire Quinn; Director of Rugby: Noel Mannion, and Director of Capital Projects: Steve Goode. The club wish their new board and committee members every success for the season ahead.
From late June, Friday nights were once again a hive of activity with the return of the ever-popular Tag Rugby series. Running over six weeks, it was fantastic to see so many people getting involved. With both a competitive league for those looking for a challenge, and a casual league for beginners, social teams or anyone simply looking for a bit of fun, there really was something for everyone.
Whether playing or spectating, the club enjoyed a great atmosphere each Friday evening. The clubhouse bar was open, there was plenty of entertaining rugby on display and it was a pleasure to see people grabbing a drink from the bar and soaking up the summer sun.
The 2026/27 season gets underway in late August or early September, and the Club would love to welcome some new faces to the club. Whether you’re interested in playing, volunteering or simply becoming part of the Ballinasloe Rugby Club community, there’s a place for everyone.
