The local Toastmasters group is going from strength to strength as they continue their meetings on the second and fourth Thursdays from 7pm – 9pm every month in the Enterprise Hub on Society Street.
Each meeting gives members the opportunity to develop and grow their confidence, their public-speaking abilities and their leadership skills. Each meeting is one where “first times” are experienced and celebrated. At a recent meeting, Trevor Wood became Meeting Toastmaster for the first time, Eileen Reddan had an inspiring ice-breaker speech, while Brendan Harding entertained on the tin whistle in Creative Corner for the first time.
A significant highlight was the two recent visits by Championship of Public Speaking Semi-finalist, Viv Tyndall, to Ballinasloe Toastmasters. He is a prominent member of Princeton Toastmasters in the United States. He used the meetings to test-deliver speeches and was thankful for the feedback at both events.
