Ballinasloe Water Services Upgrade and Street Enhancement Works
Information Note No.1
Galway Co. Co, working in partnership with Irish Water is commencing works on the above project which includes construction of approximately 2.54km of combined and surface water sewers, approximately 1.6km of watermain, upgrade to telecom and ESB ducting and complete enhancement of Dunlo Street, Main Street and Society Street in Ballinasloe Town Centre. SIAC Construction Ltd is the Main Contractor who is working on behalf of Galway Co. Co. to deliver this project. The works will be undertaken in a pre-determined phased basis with an overall anticipated duration of 18 months to complete the works.
In terms of the immediate programme, works are planned to commence at St. Michael’s Square East (from junction with Dunlo Street to junction with Jubilee Street) on 25th June 2018. Galway Co. Co. anticipates that these works will take approximately 4 weeks to complete.
Following completion of this section, works on St. Michaels Square West will then commence.
Details on the programme of works for the remaining phases and locations throughout the town will be included in a specific website for the project.

Information on the website will include general project details, relevant maps, public information notices, sequence of works, traffic management arrangements and contact details. A Public Liaison Officer will be made available as a direct point of contact between the Contractor and any affected Businesses/Residents. In the first instance, queries should be directed to the Public Liaison Officer via your nominated Business Representatives for each street.
