The sleep out will take place in Ballinasloe Town Centre near the iconic horse statue where Stephen will be joined by others swapping their beds for sleeping bags.

Galway Simon supporter, Stephen Spollen, will undertake a 12 hour sponsored sleep out on Saturday, February 25th from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. in a bid to raise awareness for homelessness and to fundraise for Galway Simon Community.
The Offaly native commented that it was significant visible increase of homelessness and recent 3interactions with homeless people that has prompted him to do the fundraiser. He stated that it made him realise that homelessness can happen to anyone and he has asked for the public’s support. “I would ask that people get involved, especially on this one, as not much focus is put on rural homelessness”.
All proceeds raised will go to Galway Simon Community who provide support and accommodation services to people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness in Galway. In 2016, the charity worked with 622 households, including 177 households in the Ballinasloe area.

If you’d like to support Stephen and his fundraiser, visit JustGiving.com and search for ‘Stephen Spollen’.
