Ballinasloe Tennis Club have an action packed day planned for this Saturday. As well as the chance to see 2 professional tennis players in a demonstration match, there will be plenty of other indoor and outdoor activities on offer for all ages and interests. Firemen and a Fire Engine from Ballinasloe Fire Brigade will be in attendance, and Civil Defence will be there with an Ambulance and Boat and they will be Demonstrating their NEW DRONE! Also available will be Free Health Screening and lots of information on various health and fitness topics. For the younger children there will be a Bouncy Castle and Facepainting and other indoor and outdoor games for all ages, including Obstacle Course, Giant Playing Cards, Wii Tennis, a Disco and Marquee. There will be fundraising raffles with some great prizes on offer and refreshments and food will also be available. The club is currently working on developing a new home, including indoor courts that can be used for many other sports and activities for the benefit of the community as a whole, and you can find out more about this development on the day. ENTRANCE IS FREE for all and the fun starts at 12 Noon this Saturday, 30th April at the Ballinasloe Tennis Club, Rugby Club Grounds, Portumna Road, Moher, Ballinasloe. Kilconnell Tidy Towns are thrilled to be hosting Bev Truss RVN DipCABT, on Wed May 18th at the community hall. The session will run from 3.30 pm- 4.30 pm in the community hall in Kilconnell. She will deliver an information session on helping hedgehogs and other wildlife in distress. This session will be of significant importance for those involved with grass cutting and strimming, hedge maintenance, other aspects of gardening and wildlife conservation. It will be of great benefit to those involved with or in Community Employment Schemes who are responsible for community maintenance and upkeep. Bev is a qualified Veterinary Nurse, Companion Animal Behaviourist and Wildlife Rehabilitator who runs and manages The Hogsprickle, an organisation which aims to help injured animals and wildlife in distress! Deborah Brady, Marion Ruane and Ken Campbell are launching a new initiative for Ballinasloe called “Accessibility Ballinasloe” it's a Community Group representing all sectors of our community and was formed to develop the Ballinasloe area as an accessible, inclusive environment which welcomes and supports everyone to live an independent and healthy life regardless of age or disability.

Business Networking Event – Thursday 5th May
The Town Team are hosting a Business Networking get together in Gullane’s Hotel on Thursday 5th May at 6.30pm. We have invited a speaker from the company Town Apps to give us a presentation on developing our very own “Ballinasloe Town App”. They have developed Apps for Towns and Cities in Ireland, the UK and USA. All businesses in the area are more than welcome to attend, so please feel free to forward to anyone you think may be interested. Ballinasloe Cycling Club are hosting a Family Fun Cycle on 2nd May at 9:45 am from the Emerald Ballroom. This is to lead out the 300+ Cycle Against Suicide Cyclists out of Ballinasloe and then after we will be teaching bike skills and doing helmet checks. BCC asks that everyone wears orange on the day and a helmet!. This is a free family event so we want you , your family, your friends , your friends friends to come out, have fun, wear orange and promote the Cycle Against Suicide message that it's to not feel ok and help break the cycle of suicide on the Island of Ireland! There will be a positive talk just before the Event itself. This promises to be a fun way to spend your Bank Holiday Monday! |
