The Ballinasloe Library is presenting their second edition of its hybrid online and in person Comic Con this November.
After the success of the first edition of the event, the Library will hopefully entertain all comic, cartoon and science fiction fans locally with a chance to hook up and spend a few days celebrating their passion for animation and illustration. Focusing on three pillar themes of Creativity, Science and Music the Comicon will take place on November 5th - 7th and it will consist in a series of disucssion panels, workshops, interviews and some displays. There will be a schools art competion and indeed an on COSPLAY Competition also. Among the headliners of the event, there will be Alan Nolan, an illustrator graphic designer and the author of the very popular novella, Sam Hannigan's Rock Star Granny and Dr. Barry Fitzgerald a speaker, author, superhero scientist, enthusiastic communicator and a super-fan of the superhero genre. Ballinasloe’s very own Amie Doherty and Eimear Noone who work in the movie, animation and music world have agreed to participate in the programme and announce the winners of the competitions. The full program for the weekend will be published online during early October for participation. The event will be free, but booking it in advance will be compulsory in order to attend it and take part in some of the events which will have limited online numbers.
